Hi Ben,

I am glad you are all doing well. Don't let your families know I sent this email, but we have been doing a bit of market research in the area as I have been playing with some equine medicine in my free time and I too enjoy my clinic very much but do not know how long I will stay. In short, there is hardly anyone in the area that will see horses, and of those people even fewer of them do not use pentobarbital as their mainstay anesthetic. Just so you know, there would be plenty of room around here for a progressive vet in all aspects especially equine........ Oh, and say hi to Andrea and the kiddos!!!

Hi Ben,

Just checking in on you guys. How is going balancing kiddos and work? Marshall reminded me today that I am "his best friend EVER!" Since there is a lot of competition for that title I was relieved to hear that. :-) Are you still loving your clinic? How much bovine/equine/ and SA are you seeing? Are you enjoying being close to your families?
We are really glad to be back in the moutains. I really like my clinic too, though I have recently realized that one of the down falls of our production system is that there is not any paid vacation... ever. We each have one on call weekend per month, and I was on last weekend. I had 14 emergencies which is significantly above our average and I did not see my bed during the 4AM hour for several nights. At the end of the weekend I was painfully aware that my contract does not include paid vacation.
I am thinking about dabbling in a bit of equine on the side, if you get lists of questions from me in the near future, you will know that I accidentally examines a horse.
Say Hi to Andrea from me!!

That pic makes me all warm and fuzzy. Let me know if you guys are gonna come out for the Seafood and Wine Festival (if you want more info, check the website (http://www.seafoodandwine.com/) . I have never been but I hear that it is fun. Hope that you both can come and we'll let the new members of the family meet and see if my son can beat up your son!
